As a lash tech there is lots of things we can do to ensure our clients lashes last. Not only will this give you a great reputation, it will make your life easier when it comes to infills!
Making sure your adhesive fits to it environment.
if your room typically has a temp of 20-25° and humidity of 30-70% you will need a glue that fits these requirements. If not, it can mean the glue will not bond correctly and therefore your retention will be poor, when looking for an adhesive check for its range against your hygrometer in your room - if they’re a good fit you’ve found your glue!
Our “ FAST FUSE” lash adhesive is a 0.5-1 second drying time and works within a 40-70% humidity range with its ideal being around 50% and temp is 20-35° with its ideal being 21-22. This is great for more experienced lash techs, and who use glue rings etc where the glue doesn’t have to travel too far to get to the natural lash.
Our “YOU’RE STUCK WITH ME” lash adhesive is a 1-2 second drying time and has the same temperature and humidity ranges. This is great for beginner lash techs and also those who prefer to work a little slower

Make sure you burp/shake your adhesive.
Without shaking your adhesive you risk the ingredients not being mixed properly and therefore the formula of the glue not being its optimum. This will affect how the glue performs. If you don’t “burp” your adhesive, it Can mean air gets trapped inside which not only will clog your glue nozzle causing problems down the line with efficiency but also oxygen reduces the shelf life of your adhesive so your bottle won’t last as long.
Changing your glue dot regularly
by changing your glue dot every 20 minutes, you will always have a fresh perfect drop of glue that won’t be affected by the air . You may notice after you drop your glue onto a stone / ring as the minutes go by it starts drying round the edges, this is the glue reacting with the moisture in the air and setting, if you apply a lash with glue that is essentially half dry it won’t properly bond with the natural lash resulting in poor retention
Making sure their lashes are squeaky clean.
this goes for both client and lash tech, please let your clients be aware that they must come in with clean lashes, I’ve seen makeup, lash glue, sleep, everything you can think of and not only does it take extra time meaning less time to lash but it can be hard to pick off all lash glue residue etc. therefore if the client tries to get everything off beforehand it means I can do a quick lash bath and focus on application.
a lash bath is so important for squeaky clean lashes, without clean lashes the adhesive will not bond as well. Imagine trying to apply an extension on a lash covered in oil based foundation or a clump of lash glue- it won’t! So make sure they’re nice and clean to cover your back. Using our “BUBBLE UP” Lash shampoo will guarantee the cleanest lashes and balance the PH for maximum retention!

Wrap method
the wrap method is basically when you’re applying a fan, you apply a little pressure and as the fan is still loose at the base (not if it’s a classic lash or Promade) it will slightly open and as the glue dries it will set whilst it’s been wrapped around the lash. This essentially means the extension is bugging the natural lash giving it a tighter hold rather than just placed on the side. This is why I prefer making my own fans and using some spikes in a classic set as you can get a better attatchement.
perfect application and isolation
This goes without saying but perfect attatchment of around 2mm from the base of the lash with no lifting and isolating properly to avoid multiple lashes being stuck together- this will mean not as many lashes will be lashed and therefore not as full as they could be- which will give your great retention.
Finishing off with a bonder/ sealant
Bonder makes the bonds of the glue more flexible and also immediately sets the adhesive which makes it waterproof and therefore less likely to be disrupted. Sealant seals the bond of the adhesive and helps protect it from dirt/debris helping them to last also. Only use a tiny amount of each of these and fan in between.
